Today ends 27 weeks of hell with a colleague

A colleague who berated me for not doing something I have never been asked to do.

A colleague who told me he might have to take legal advice because I had never done what I had never been asked to do.

A colleague who clearly believed a woman who lied about me

A colleague who listened to someone who complained about something I had done, when she told me she thought my move was good.

A colleague who sent nasty emails berating impactful previous work

A colleague who was sweetness and light to me in front of others

A colleague whose actions saw me under the doctor and on medication.

A colleague who has no idea how many mutual acquaintances we have. Acquaintances who told me their ‘fuse is as short as their legs’ ‘nothing is ever their fault’ ‘only hear what they want’. I can count twelve people happy to share such things.

A colleague whose partner works in the same place as two others I know. One of whom is a good friend. Said partner, I am told by another would not even ‘take responsibility for their own farts’. Note the parallel with the ‘nothing is ever their fault comment.

A colleague who showed me that knowledge and ability are not as closely lined as I had previously given them credit for.
